Roy Blanton House, age 77, of Highway 52, Gillsville, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, January 14, 2010 at noon in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Marshall Dale and Grandson Robert Jimerson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. House was born June 15, 1932 in Bovina, Mississippi to the late Blanton House and Maude Cagle House. Roy served in the U.S. Army, retired from General Motors and was a member of Gillsville Baptist Church.
Mr. House is survived by his wife of 59 years, Milford Wood House of Gillsville; daughter & son-in-law, Gloria & Michael Austin of Lula; son & daughter-in-law, Sammy & Karen House of Lula; son, Ronny House of Gillsville; grandson & wife, Robert & Gina Jimerson; grandson, Russell Jimerson; granddaughters & their husbands, Brandy & David Rogers and Brittany & Andy Tench; great-grandsons, Blanton Jimerson, Mason Jimerson, Landon Tench and Micah Jimerson; great-granddaughters, Tatum McQuillian and Lanie Tench; brothers & sisters-in-laws, Henry & Louise House of Gillsville, David & Frances House of Gainesville, Toby & Evelyn House of Lula and Lewis & Susie House of Gainesville.
