Donald G. Smading, 80, of Cumming died Saturday, January 9, 2010.
Born August 15, 1929 in Helena, Montana to the late Fred and Florence Smading, Mr. Smading graduated from the University of Montana. He spent his career working in education as a teacher and coach and later moved into administration. He retired from the Florida Department of Education. Mr. Smading was a U. S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Jean Smading, Cumming; children, Connie and Ron Musselman, Covington, Dan Smading, Marietta, Karen and Bill Cannon, Jacksonville, FL, Kristi and Jim Devaney, Marietta; sister, Betty Scow, Helena; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Church of the Apostles in Dawsonville. Rev. Russell Burchard will officiate.
