On January 5, 2010 God called home a very special woman, a woman who touched so many people's lives in so many ways and asked for nothing in return. Born July 27, 1918 in Tellaco Plains, TN (home town Little Toqua, TN).Memaw moved to Hall County as a child with her family and worked in the fields with her family. She told of the many stories running to the road with her siblings to watch the A Models pass by, as there were hardly any vehicles during her childhood. As she grew older living in "Cabbage Town," she traveled from Lula to New Holland Mill and worked endlessly as a battery filler. She then enjoyed working at Gainesville Mill with her young daughter Felicia until disabled in 1979. On Friday, January 9th, 1954 she was married to Loy L. Williams by Judge L. Luther. At that time she was beloved by six stepchildren as her own, raising her stepson David.

On November 10, 1056, she gave birth to her son, Danny Stevie Williams, whom she buried 2 months later. On November 28, 1959, she gave birth to her daughter, Felecia E. Williams.

Along with caring for her new family, she cared for her mother Dora Aikens and husband Loy Williams until their deaths in 2002. She moved to live with her son, David Lester Williams and his family until her death.

Special thanks to the compassionate staff at Chestatee Regional Hospital and special friends Vicki and Wendell Masters and Tommie and Roy Miller.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Lee Howington of Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, David and Jane Williams of Gainesville; stepchildren and their spouses, Mary and Leon Roper of Kennesaw, Bronzi and Barbara Peppers of Monroe, Sharon Benton of Monroe, Kit Armour of Monroe, Martha Keys of Jackson, MS; sister, Bessie Brookshire of Gainesville; special grandchildren and spouses, granddaughter Edith and spouse Cale Hulsey, granddaughter Stephanie and spouse Brent Loggins, and grandson David Williams, 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Evelenor Aikens and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
