Mr. B.H. Farmer.

Mr. B.H. Farmer age 86 of Oakwood passed away Saturday at his residence following a sudden illness.

Mr. Farmer was born May 21, 1923 in Hall County, and had lived here all of his life. He served his Country in the United States Navy having fought in the South Pacific during World War II. He was retired from Cornett Carpets and had also worked for a number of years for Reliance Electric as a security guard and also worked for Sealtest Dairies and Flav-o-rich for a number of years. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Gainesville Masonic Lodge #219 F & AM for over 50 years. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sunday school teacher and a present member of the Jesus Now Sunday School class . He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Alene Turk Farmer and brothers, Ernest Farmer, Millard Farmer, Henry Farmer and Ivan Farmer.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law; Darrell and Betty Jo Farmer of Oakwood; Mike and Carol Farmer of Flowery Branch; grandchildren; Tim and Cindy Farmer; Ron and Lisa Farmer; Matthew Farmer; Mitch and Kerry Farmer; great grandchildren; Justin Farmer, Destiny Farmer, Michael Farmer, Abigail Farmer and Olivia Farmer, also a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 29, 2009 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Phil Carpenter, Rev. Stacy Phillips and Sheriff Steve Cronic will officiate. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday December 28, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
