Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Vinnie Iowa Lawson, age 99, of Cleveland. Mrs. Lawson passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Friendship Healthcare following a period of declining health.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 24, 2009 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Winifred Bingham officiating, interment will follow in Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Lawson was born in Macon County, NC, April 26, 1910 to Joel Newton Bingham and Arie Nevada Dills Bingham. She was a homemaker and a member of Apple Valley Baptist Church in Commerce. Mrs. Lawson is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lawson; son, Curtis Lawson and grandson, Joey Lawson.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen Wiley of Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Neal & Jerry Palmer of Cleveland; as well as 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 12 great- great grandchildren.
