Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Mrs. Mary F. Smith, 84, of Jefferson, who died on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Athens. Born in Jackson County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Garnett E. and Callie Wilson Bowles. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, W. C. Smith; a grandson, Harley Noah Smith, and a granddaughter, Patricia Grace Smith. Survivors include children, Evelyn Chambers of Jefferson, Summie Smith of Jefferson, Emily Baker of Danielsville, Bobby Smith of Alaska, Terry Smith of Jefferson, and Randall Smith of Jefferson; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary F. Smith will be conducted on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at 11:00am at the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, December 23, 2009, from 6-9pm and at other times at the home of Summie Smith, 480 Elliot Smith Road in Jefferson.
