James J. Coker, age 70, of Cumming, GA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Mr. Coker, known to his friends and family as Jack, was born in Mount Olive, North Carolina in 1939. He graduated high school and spent the early part of his life in Columbia, SC, before moving to Atlanta, GA in 1978. He enjoyed a successful career in decorative hardware sales for many years.
Everyone who met Jack loved him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his generosity to his friends and family, and his love for his daughters and his grandson. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Coker is survived by his sisters, Angeline Barwick and Dorothy Lane; his brother Willie Coker; his daughters, Michelle Crawford, Cathy Rumfelt, and Carrie Bishop; and his grandson Brady Crawford.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the American Stroke Association in his memory where a memorial has been set up in his memory. (
