Vance Dock Lewallen

Mr. Vance Dock Lewallen, 77, of Gainesville died December 18, 2009.

A native of Habersham County, Mr. Lewallen lived most of his life in Hall County. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was a retired poultry farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Holman and Gertrude Lewallen; brother, J.B. Lewallen and sister, Wortie Lee Hill.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Mildred Lewallen; son and daughter in law, Bobby and Jan Lewallen, Gainesville; daughters and sons in laws, Betty and Ralph Sims, Gillsville, Judy Thomas, Gainesville, Jane and Mike Warwick, Gainesville; brothers and sisters in law, Gordan and Claudine Lewallen, Lula, Swayne and Janice Lewallen, Toccoa, Stanley and Sharon Lewallen, Toccoa; sister, Agnes Lewallen, Toccoa; grandchildren, Greg, Julie and Clete, Chasity and Brent, Amanda and Johnny, Hunter and Logan; great grandchildren, Calah, Aly, Maggie, Savannah, Ryland and Nicholas.

Funeral services will be held Monday December 21, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Dewayne Ryles, Rev. Marshall Dale, Rev. Brent Jordan and Rev. Samuel Dale will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Little and Davenport Funeral Home.
