Jerry Benson Smallwood

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Jerry Benson Smallwood, 63, of Commerce who died on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of Thomas B. Smallwood and the late Laura Oneda Sorrow Smallwood. Survivors, along with his father, include his wife, Diane B. Smallwood; his sons Tommy Smallwood of Gillsville, Tony Smallwood of Commerce, and Jody Seabolt of Danielsville; his sisters Martha Gail Smallwood, Nancy (Eddie) Bell Summers and Vickie Dru Worley, all of Commerce; and his five grandchildren. Funeral services for Jerry Benson Smallwood will be conducted on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2 pm in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Lev Humphries officiating. Internment will follow in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 18, 2009 from 6pm to 9pm and at other times at the home of Mr. Thomas Smallwood, 133 Spring Street in Commerce.
