Rosa Fay Bennett

Mrs. Rosa Fay Bennett, age 76, of Nicholson, GA, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bennett was born in Bullock County, GA to the late Benjamin and Alma Buckner Lewis. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church and retired from the Jackson County School System. In addition to her parents, her husband, William Edwin Bennett, preceded Mrs. Bennett in death.


Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughter, Melody Nichols of Nicholson; her sons, Rev. Charles Bennett of Thomaston, Anthony Bennett of Maysville and Timothy Bennett of Nicholson; her sisters, Edith Williamson of Crawford, TN and Gloria Hess of Stowe, OH; her brothers, Steve Hess of San Antonio, TX and Henry Hess of Gainesville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Saturday, December 19 at Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Bennett and Rev. Wayne Coley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6 to 8 PM.
