Calvin Floyd Smith

Mr. Calvin Floyd Smith, 82 of Imperial Drive, Gainesville died Saturday December 5, 2009 at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late John Floyd and Gladys Smith. He attended Riverbend School and worked with his father at Smith Grocery after returning from Korea, he also was an independent mail contractor for the United States Postal Service for 27 years. Mr. Smith was a member of the New Bridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Doris Smith, Gainesville; daughters, Susan Williams and Shelia Bryant, both of Gainesville; son, Kevin Smith, Gainesville; grandaughters; Crystal Bryant and Summer Bryant; grandsons; Jake Williams, Jared Williams and D.J. Bryant; sister, Mildred Tilley; brothers, Billy Smith and Donald Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 7, 2009 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ralph Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday December 6, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Gainesville/ Hall County Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road Suite 114, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
