Lucille Alexander Beggs

Lucille Alexander Beggs of Gainesville died Friday November 27, 2009. She was 89 years old and was predeceased by her parents Lucy Elder Alexander and Jodie Wilbur Alexander; her husband of 62 years, Norman Luther Beggs; sisters Wilma Rogers, Thelma Thomas, Joyce Walters, Martha Alexander and brother Joe Alexander,Jr.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Barbara Beggs Littell and Roger Littell of Charlotte, NC, and Joann Beggs Keller and Bill Keller of Dawsonville. Her grandchildren are Katherine Littell Bir and husband Sean of Greensboro, NC; Michael Littell and wife Mary Allister of Mebane, NC; Jennifer Keller Vaz and husband Ron of N. Augusta, SC; and Kathryn Keller Blackmon and husband Barry of Statham, GA. Her great grandchildren are Andrew and David Bir, Zachary, Kaitlin, and Jacob Littell, Simon and Jackson Vaz , and Samantha and Will Blackmon. In addition, she is survived by sister-in-law Margaret Alexander of Columbus, GA and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Beggs was born in Clarke County, Georgia. She was retired from Social Security and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.. All who knew her were aware of her loving, caring spirit, her devotion to her family and friends, and her lifetime love of flowers and gardening. She had been active in her church and in her community, most recently giving her time to Meals on Wheels, the Prayer Shawl Ministry and the Hospital Auxiliary. Memorial Services will held 2:00p.m. Sunday December 6, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Hugh Cauthen, & Rev. Tom Jones officiating.
