Janice L. White

Janice L. White, 66, of Gainesville, went to be with the Lord, November 23, 2009 after suffering a sudden illness.


The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, from the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ms. White was born Jan. 24, 1943, in Gainesville to the late Roy and Bessie Pittman. She was a longtime member of Free Chapel Worship Center of Gainesville, and was a devout Christian woman.

She was retired from Hall County School System where she worked with special needs children for many years and reached out to all those surrounding her regardless of age. Everyone knew and loved "Ms. White."

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her son Jeff Dean, and sister Jenelle Smith, all of Gainesville. She cared for her mother Bessie who suffered from a long term illness and recently also left this world to be with her husband Roy who died in 2007.

Ms. White is survived by her son Josh Poole of Gainesville and daughter Kim Whitfield of Brookton, grandchildren Bobby and Allison Dyer, and three wonderful great grandchildren Jakob, Dylan, and Carmen. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, and her beloved Chihuahua Sparky.

We all love Janice, Mom, Mother, and O Mommy and she will be deeply missed.
