William Burg Hansen

William Burg Hansen Sr., age 82, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday November 22, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Hansen was born January 21, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to the late William and Edith Stanley Hansen. He was a veteran of the Navy where he served in World War II. Mr. Hansen worked for Eastern Airlines for 38 years and was a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Charlotte S. Hansen, Cleveland; son, William B. Hansen Jr., Johnson City, TN; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Stephen Kerr, Forest, VA; son, Hewen Sayre Hansen, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Kayleigh Osborne, Michael Kerr, Stephanie Kerr, Caitlyn Herring; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday from the Mt. Yonah Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Merck and Dr. John Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 P.M. at the Church prior to the service.
