Albert W. Kubler Jr.

Mr. Albert Kubler, age 85, of Cleveland, formerly of New Jersey and Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Monday, November 16, 2009 in the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kubler was born in Newark, NJ, on February 24, 1924 to the late Albert Sr. and Mae Dunn Kubler. He was preceded in death by his son Albert David Kubler and grandson William Kubler. Mr. Kubler has been a resident of White County for the past 35 years. He was the original owner of the Hayloft Pub in Helen, GA. He loved music and as Mr. Octoberfest, he loved taking part in the Helen Octoberfest. He was very proud of having run with the Olympic Torch leading up to the 1996 Olympics.

In WWII he served with the first Marine Division at Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands. He was a member of the American Legion and Marine Corps League.

He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Nadine Kubler, Cleveland; son Tom Kubler, Cleveland; son and daughter in law John and Sharon Kubler, Cleveland; dear grand daughter and her husband Susan and Mark Sorrows, Cleveland; great grandsons, Bradley Sullens, Nicholas Sullens, William Sorrows, and Patrick Sorrows, friends Bob and Joan Allberry, and friends in the Marines Corps League.
