Faye Montgomery Wallace

Graveside services will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday November 14, 2009 in Alta Vista Cemetery for Faye Montgomery Wallace, 93, Gainesville. She passed away on November 11, 2009. The family will receive friends 6pm- 8pm Friday at Wards Funeral Home.

A lifelong resident and devoted member of the Gainesville Community, Faye worked for the City of Gainesville and retired in 1982 after 31 years of service. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Longstreet Society. Faye was also a dedicated volunteer, working for many years in the Gift Shop at N.E. Georgia Medical Center as well as the Gateway House for Battered Women. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Jimmy Cuttrell Memorial Fund, Wachovia Bank, Gainesville, Ga.

Survivors include, Son & Daughter-in-law, Bill & Marcia Wallace, Duluth,Ga. Daughter & Son-in-law, Jane & Jim Ilderton, Charleston, S.C., 6 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 very special "adopted" Grandson, Adam Webb. Also to cherish her memory are 9 Nieces and nephews, Ben Reed, Gadsden, Al. , Jill Momper and Rinda Kemp, Gainesville. Rosemary McDaniel , Martha McMakin, Julie O'Neil, Ben McMakin , Andy Montgomery, Nita Norton.

The family wishes to thank Faye's many friends for their love and support through the years, with very special gratitude to Melvin Ramsey, Michael Hughes, Joel & Vicky Webb, Jim & Pat O'Kelly, Marilyn and Kel Lee Cuttrell, and the caring and devoted staff at The Oaks at Limestone.
