Mack Mixer

Mack Mixer, 69, of Dawsonville died Wednesday November 4, 2009 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born August 19, 1940 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Burke and Jane Mixer, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 10 years having moved from Sebring, Florida. Mr. Mixer formerly owned and operated Mixer Electric Company in Valdosta after which he moved to Orlando, Florida where he lived 17 years and was employed by Hughes Supply, Inc. For 10 years, along with his wife, they owned Winterset Motel in Sebring. He was an employee and later an avid volunteer with Thunder Road and was the caretaker of Lumpkin Campground. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was also preceded in death by a brother, Leon Burke Mixer, II.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Joy Mixer, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Karen and John Fauley, Longwood, FL, Janet Mixer, Dawsonville, Christine and James Menezes, Live Oak, Florida; sister, Jane Sherwood, Valdosta; grandchildren, Michelle and Robert Boylan, Audra Osborn, Heather Fauley, Chris Mixer, Amanda Menezes, Laura Menezes, Jimmy Menezes; great grandchildren, Jacob Boylan, Juliana Boylan, Yuri Smith, Brandon Mixer, Tyler Mixer.
