Doris Anita Maney Lewallen

Doris Anita Maney Lewallen, age 49, of Clarkesville, GA passed away Wednesday, November 04, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Stephens County, GA on September 05, 1960, she was the daughter of Faye Ballenger Maney of Baldwin and the late Tommy Maney. Mrs. Lewallen was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who loved reading and collecting antiques. In addition to her father, Mrs. Lewallen is also preceded in death by a brother, David Thomas Maney.

Surviving are husband, Darryl Lewallen of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Julian Slagle of Gainesville and Brittany and Manuel Nava of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Tiffany Lacey of Gainesville; mother, Faye Ballenger Maney of Baldwin; sisters, Bonnie Davis of Baldwin, Geraldine Simmons of Toccoa and Dianne Tyra of Homer; grandchildren, Emily Nava, Alex Nava, Madison Nava and Gabriella Nava; several nieces also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 06, 2009 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Chad Buffington and Rev. Tony Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-9 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
