Lounelle Whitmire Locke

Mrs. Lounelle Whitmire Locke age 89 of Gainesville passed away Tuesday Oct. 20, 2009.


Mrs. Locke was born in Hall County on September 19, 1920 to the late Floyd & Julie Abernathy Whitmire. Mrs. Locke was retired from the Pacolet Manufacturing and was a charter member of the New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. She was a loving mother & grandmother and leaves many friends & relatives. She was preceded in death by her brothers & sisters, Robert Whitmire, Dee Whitmire, Eunice Whitmire, Adele Hicks, Lottie Aaron, Lizzie McIntyre & Helen Taylor.



Survivors include: son, Danny Locke, son & daughter in law, Mel & Gayle Locke both of Gainesville, daughter & son in law, Betty & Simmie Miller of Gainesville, grandsons & wives, Steven & Cathy Locke, Adam & Shay Locke, granddaughters, Melanie Locke & Cindy Humphries, granddaughter and husband, Tammy & Warren Roper, great grandchildren, Justin, Cody, Avery & Ryan., brother, Jimmy Whitmire of Dallas, Texas.



Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday Oct.24, 2009 at the New Haven Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Mason & Ward Funeral Home.
