Douglas E. Mertens, age 86 of Buford, GA, died Saturday, October 17, 2009. The Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 2-4 PM at the funeral home. Following the visitation Mr. Mertens will be taken to Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Pineville, LA for funeral service and interment. Mr. Mertens was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Ed Mertens and sons, Edward Lee Mertens and Rodney Blain Mertens. Surviving is his wife of 62 years Doris Mertens, Buford; Daughter and Son In-law, Karen and Ernie Cash, Buford; Granddaughters, Lee Anne Mertens, NH, Natalie McCall and husband Joey, Winder, GA, Emily Watts and husband Jeremy, Duluth, GA, Miranda â
