Winnie Gooch

Mrs. Winnie Gooch, age 90, of Dahlonega, GA died Tuesday October 13, 2009 at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega.

Mrs. Gooch was born in Lumpkin County May 17, 1919 and was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
She was retired from the Burlington Pinetree Plant in Dahlonega and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Gooch was the daughter of the late Monroe and Cordelia Walker Caldwell and was also preceded in death by her husband, Pat Gooch; son, Robert Gooch, great-grandson, William Wells; brothers, Henley, Herman, Pool, and Buck Caldwell; and sister, Fay Gooch.

She is survived by Sons and daughters-in-law, Loyd Pool and Sylvia Gooch, Dahlonega, GA, Dean and Joyce Gooch, Dahlonega, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and William Woodward, Dahlonega, GA; sisters-in-law, Ruth Caldwell, Mattie Caldwell, and Myrtle Russell.
Grandchildren, Sherri Wells, Carolyn Cummings, Donna Edmondson, Evelyn Powell, Rachel Kephart, Bradley Gerrells, Larry Gooch, Kevin Dockery; 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a large number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gooch are scheduled for 11 AM Friday October 16, 2009 at the Yahoola Baptist Church with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Neal Head, and Rev. Dean Bryant officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home all day on Thursday starting at 11 AM
