Edward Norrell

Mr. Edward Norrell, age 49, of Dahlonega, GA died Sunday October 11, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Edward was born in Lumpkin County, GA Feb. 29, 1960 and was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of The Church of the Almighty God in Lumpkin County. He was a tour guide at Consolidated Gold Mine in Dahlonega and was instrumental in the restoration and reopening of the mine to the public. He was a gold panner and was a five time world champion, which, was a record at the time. He was a member of the Gold Panners Hall of Fame and was also involved in the Jehovah-jireh food ministry.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Jewell Edward Norrell.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Norrell, Dahlonega, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Connie Norrell, Dawsonville, GA, Frank and Darlene Norrell, Estill Springs, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and James Myers, Murrayville, GA, Brenda Head and Charles Gilstrap, Murrayville, GA; special friend, â
