Dora Bell Caldwell

Mrs. Dora Bell Caldwell, age 93, of Dahlonega, GA died Monday October 12, 2009 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Caldwell born in Union County, GA September 19, 1916 and was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, and was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church. Mrs. Caldwell worked several years at Gold City Convalescent Center and was also a homemaker and avid gardener.
Dora was the daughter of the late Joe and Cora Ward Gooch and was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Walter Caldwell; daughter, Joyce Caldwell; grandchildren, Phil Manley and Gail Moses; and great-grandchild, Taylor Caldwell; brothers, Homer Gooch, Carl Gooch, Clayton Gooch, Dock Gooch, and Pat Gooch.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Berta Mae and Paul Manley, Jean and Travis Adams, all of Dahlonega; sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Vivian Caldwell, Charles and Kathy Caldwell, all of Dahlonega; granddaughters, Vonda Moses Waldrip and Leshia Adams; grandsons, Mike Manley, Ricky Moses, Trent Adams, Chad Caldwell, Andy Caldwell, Chuck Caldwell, and Darian Caldwell; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mattie Caldwell, Dahlonega, GA and Myrtle Russell, Gainesville, GA. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Caldwell are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday October 14, 2009 at the Yahoola Baptist Church with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Dean Bryant, and Rev. Neal Head will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Caldwell will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 1:30 PM until 2 PM.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home all day on Tuesday starting at 11 AM.
Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
