Evelyn Rebecca Hames Barron

Evelyn Rebecca Hames Barron, age 82 of Clarkesville, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009, following an extended illness.

Born in Habersham County on November 04, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Davis and Fay Edwards Hames. Ms. Barron was retired from Habersham Bank with over 50 years of dedicated service and she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Millard Barron; son, Thomas Anthony Barron; and brothers, Grady Hames and Junior Hames.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie & Mike Tench and Dale & Jim Jennings all of Clarkesville; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ruth & Rodger Bucy of Oakwood; sisters-in-law, Ruby Barron Hames of Clarkesville and Dot Hames of Demorest; grandchildren, Jill Gallagher and her husband, Jim of Clarkesville, James Jennings and his wife, Jennifer of Clarkesville, Jessica Tench and her fiancée, Aubrey Keller of Clarkesville and Stuart Tench of Clarkesville; great grandchildren, Justin Gallagher, John Luke Gallagher, Jennings Gallagher, Benjamin Gallagher, Brandon Gallagher, Davis Jennings, Rebekah Jennings and Sarah Jennings.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Monday, October 12, 2009, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Furman Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 pm on Sunday.
