Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Fred Edward Hooper, age 74 of Cleveland. Mr. Hooper passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM, Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from Town Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Robinson , Rev. Casey Robinson officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hooper was born in White County on December 9, 1934 to Grant Hooper and Fannie Dorsey Hooper. He served with honor in the United States Air Force retiring in 1974, after his retirement he was employed with North Georgia College where he was Chief of Security ( later known as Director of Public Safety), a position in which he retired with 20 years service.
Mr. Hooper was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Gideons.
In addition to his parents , Mr. Hooper is preceded in death by his son, Aubrey James Hooper, sister, Frances Dickerson and brothers, Paul Hooper and Barnett Hooper
Survivors include his wife, Francine (Fran) Hooper, Cleveland; daughter, Freda Hooper, Dahlonega; daughter and son in law, Bonnie & Gary Miller, Douglasville; son and daughter in law, Joey & Vicki Hooper, Cleveland
Brothers and sisters in law, Harold & Lucille Hooper, Cleveland; Tom & Willie Mae Hooper, Demorest; sister, Lera Black, Cleveland; sister and brother in law, Betty & Larry Parris, Cleveland, sister in law, Val Hooper, St. Cloud, Florida
Grandchildren, Nick and Elizabeth Miller, Smyrna; Christopher Miller, Douglasville; Taylor Miller, Douglasville; Hannah and Adam Hooper, both of Cleveland
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to4 PM and 6 to 9PM
