Thalmer E. Anderson

Mr. Thalmer E. Anderson, age 90, of Cleveland went home to be with The Lord Tuesday, October 06, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.


Mr. Anderson was born in White County on July 8, 1919 to the late Doss and Sallie Matilda Davis Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Pitchford Anderson, son Marvin Anderson, brothers Frank Anderson, Clarence Anderson, Lester Anderson, and Grady Anderson.


Mr. Anderson was a farmer and a carpenter and was well known for the cabinets he built in this area as well as the beautiful gardens he grew. He served as a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.


Survivors include daughters and sons in law Shirley and Earle Wheeler, Murrayville; Joyce and Ricky Ray, Cleveland; sister Myrtle West, Cleveland; grandchildren Ricky Anderson, Clermont; Debbie and Ray Dean Dover, Murrayville; Rev. Mark and Joy Wheeler, Clermont; Misty and Dale Sutton, Cleveland; Christy and Chris Marsengill, Cleveland; Mathew Ray, Lula; Justin and Amy Allen, Cumming; Kale Allen, Cleveland; Rev. Chris and Jenny Anderson, Cleveland; 15 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.


Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thursday from Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Dean Bryant, Rev. Charles Buice, Rev. Mark Wheeler, and Rev. Chris Anderson. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.


The family will receive 2-9 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
