Frank Shelnut

Mr. Frank Shelnut age 83 of Cleveland passed away Monday October 5, 2009 at Northeast Ga Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Shelnut was born in White County the son of the late Claud and Carrie Pruitt Shelnut. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member and Deacon of Mt. View Baptist Church where he served as choir director for 16 years. Mr. Shelnut was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Gilleland.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruth Shelnut, Cleveland; sons and daughters in law, Kenneth and Sylvia Shelnut, Richard and Shirley Shelnut, Chris and Michelle Shelnut, all of Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, Frances and Richard Thomas, Anita and Bruce Garey, all of Cleveland; Hunting Buddy, Rondal Westmoreland, Cleveland; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday October 8, 2009 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.. The Rev. Dave Fortner, the Rev. Terry Head and the Rev. Chris Shelnut will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
