John Slaybaugh

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery for John Robert Slaybaugh, 62, of Gainesville. Visitation will be at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mr. Slaybaugh passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at home following an extended illness.


The son of Harold H. and Laura Elizabeth Hollars Slaybaugh, he was born in Harlan, KY. He had lived in Hall County since 1988. He worked for Bell South as a Special Service Tech. He was an Eagle Scout, where he received the God and Country Award, a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and member of Franklin Baptist Church in Ohio.


He leaves his wife Linda Slaybaugh of Gainesville; daughter Dee Woods of Atlanta; sisters Wilma Walters and Jana Sue Childress of Knoxville, TN; aunt Gayle Hall of Harlan, KY; uncle Estill Hall of Harlan, KY; nephew Dave Hall of Harlan, KY; brother-in-law; Gene Walters of Knoxville, TN, niece and nephew Gina and Andy Asbury of Knoxville, TN; great niece and nephew Andy and Abigail Asbury of Knoxville, TN; brother Stuart Slaybaugh of Springfield OH; aunts Ruth Hurst of Coalwater MI, Ann Meyer of Harlan, KY; brother and sister-in-law David and Beth Farrington of Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-law Suzanne Farrington of VA; Christine Farrington of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law Robert Farrington of Arizona; brother and sister-in-law Brian and Diane Falke of Japan.
