Barnett Crane

Mr. Barnett Crane age 93 of Cleveland passed away Monday September 21, 2009 at Northeast Ga Medical Center.

Mr. Crane was born in Habersham County the son of the late Willie and Mattie Hulsey Crane. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Crane, second wife, Clifford Crane, son, Wayne Crane, brothers, Hoyt Crane, Ernest Crane, Lawton Crane, Calvin Crane, Loyd Crane and twin sister, Bonnie Crane. Mr. Crane was a former Police Chief for the City of Cleveland and a White County School Bus Driver.

Survivors include his special friend, Ruth Johnson, Helen; son and daughter in law, Ben and Judy Crane, Sun Lakes, AZ; daughters, Lynda Hester, Cleveland, Peg Crane, Newnan; daughter and son in law, Joan and Peter Oehl, Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, LaKeta and Mike Cathey, Katrina and Joe Swain, all of Cleveland, Brian and Sheree Irvin,Demorest, Matt and Kim Irvin, Dallas, Peter and Amanda Oehl, Wilmington, NC; great grandchildren, Erin Cathey, Alex Cathey, Riley Swain, Jay Swain, Auston Irvin, Christopher Irvin, Peyton Irvin, Oakley Irvin, Emma Irvin, Jarod Oehl, Layla Oehl; sisters, Lessie Pethel, Gainesville, Mary Miller, Athens.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday September 23, 2009 at New Bridge Baptist Church. The Rev. Darin Cain, the Rev. Phillip Robinson and the Rev. Kyle Savage will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
