Jimmy Pruitt

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Jimmy Pruitt, age 68, of Jefferson, who passed away on Monday, September 14, 2009. Mr. Pruitt, a native of Jackson County, was a son of the late, Clarence T. Pruitt and the late, Bertie Lee Shaw Pruitt. He was Co-owner of Jefferson Heating and Air; a member of the American Legion and Academy Baptist Church; and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by his brothers: George Henry Pruitt and Johnny Lee Pruitt.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra H. Pruitt of Jefferson. Step-daughter, Krista Ginn Adkins (Al) of Jefferson. Sister, Mary Shumake Meadow of Danielsville. Special Niece, Elaine Ledford of Jefferson. Grandchildren: Ella and Trey Adkins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 17, 2009 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. James McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in Evans Memory Gardens, Jefferson. Serving as pallbearers will be Mac Snelling, Roger Jackson, Stan Truelove, Walter Storey, Ricky Brown, and Andy Evans. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Luther Pruitt, Walter Tonge, Jim Benson, Richard Bradley, Dwight Porter, and James Black.

Flowers are to be omitted and memorials may be made to Academy Baptist Church C/O Imogene Roncadori, 3777 Commerce Road Jefferson, GA 30549.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, Georgia.
