Emma Paisley Swenson

Mrs. Emma Paisley Swenson, age 79, of Gainesville , GA, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 following a sudden illness.


A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at Lanier Christian Church, 2235 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville GA at 3:30pm. Pastor David Simpson will officiate. Private interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.


There will be a second memorial service held at Westbend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albermarle Rd, Asheboro NC on Saturday, Sept. 19th at 1:30pm.


Mrs. Swenson was born Emma Jean Overman in Asheboro, N.C. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Williams Overman, her father Giles Overman, and her first husband Charles Richard Paisley.


She is survived by her husband, Arthur Swenson of Gainesville, her son and daughter-in-law Kim and Carmen Paisley of Greensboro NC, her daughter and son-in-law Dana & Michael Kirkpatrick of Buford, GA; her step-daughter and her husband Fred & Marty Travillion of Suwanee, GA ; grandson Adam Paisley of Greensboro NC, granddaughter and her husband Meredeth and Phillip Long of Wilson NC . In addition, her step-grandchildren Codi, Kelli, and Alex Kirkpatrick of Buford GA. Also she leaves behind her latest joy, Great-Grandson Christopher Montgomery Long, her brothers, Wayne Overman and Gilbert Overman, his sister, Louise Craven.


No one who ever met or spoke with Emma was untouched by her brilliant blue eyes, her larger than life smile, her zest for life, and her sincere love for all. There were no strangers in Emmaâ
