Jimmy Kenneth Moore

Jimmy Kenneth Moore, age 62 of Demorest, passed away Monday, September 14, 2009, at Habersham County Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Born in Habersham County on February 27, 1947, he was the son of the late Walter Woodrow and Hulda Lou Collins Moore. Mr. Moore recently retired from Habersham County Medical Center as an engineer, where he had 18 years of dedicated service. He was of the Baptist faith, an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed gardening. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Buford Moore; sister, Hazel Nelms and father-in-law, Ralph Sutton.

Surviving are wife of 41 years, Barbara Sutton Moore of Demorest; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry & Shane Adams of Turnerville and Sandy & Cyle Downing of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky & Melissa Moore of Demorest; brothers, Johnny Moore of Demorest, Randall Moore, Ernest Moore and Chris Moore; mother-in-law, Rosie Sutton of Demorest; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in the Nelms Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Tuesday.
