Peggy Joe Smith Looney

Mrs. Peggy Joe Smith Looney, age 71, of Westminster, SC, died Sunday, September 6, 2009.


Born December 11, 1937 in Banks County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Bernice Poole Smith. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Westminster, SC and was retired from the Kendall Corporation. Mrs. Looney loved to fish and work in her garden.


Family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Ellen and Gary Norris of Westminster and Katie and James Bruce of Toccoa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Dale and Lynn Looney of Rayle, GA and Tommy Lee and Christy Looney of Toccoa; a sister, Barbara Ann Smith of Toccoa; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Randolph Lee of Seneca, Catherine and Derrill Blackwell of Westminster, and Thelma Westmoreland of Toccoa; nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer Ray Looney; a son, Johnny Ray Looney; and a grandson, Andy Dwayne Looney.
