Roy W. Cromartie

Mr. Roy W. Cromartie, 93, of Gainesville died September 6, 2009.


A lifetime resident of Hall County, Mr. Cromartie retired after 41 years of service with Chicopee Manufacturing Company. A 1934 graduate of Gainesville High School, he served with the Army Air Corp. during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.



Mr. Cromartie was a member of the Gainesville Lions Club for 59 years and also served as Past President and served as Scout Master with Troop 16 for a number of years. He was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Gainesville where he was a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class and had served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He enjoyed gardening as a hobby.
