William David Cape

William David Cape, 75, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., formerly Oakwood, Ga., went to be with the Lord Friday September 4, 2009. He retired from Black Book in Gainesville, GA after 40 years. Refereed High School football and basketball for 25 years and served 2 years in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by parents Gordon & Mae Cape brother Owen Cape of Gillsville, GA. He was survived by his wife Lela of twenty nine years, his son and wife Marty & Diane Cape, two grandsons Justin & Hunter Cape, two step grandchildren Sydney & Corbin Lindsay of Gainesville, GA. Step son Charles and Crystal Grizzle and grandson Jeread Grizzle of Panama City, Florida. two sisters Jeannette & Carl Suggs, Vivian & Dr. Swane Pole Griffin, GA, four brothers Charles & Lois Cape Gillsville, GA, Radd & Annette Cape Gillsville, GA, Coy & Diane Cape Flowery Branch, GA and Earl & Cindy Cape Gillsville, GA. Special nephew Chris Cape along with several other nieces & nephews and many friends. A member of Glencoe Baptist Church of New Smyrna Beach, FL and special friends and caregivers Tim & Gennie Thomas of Edgewater, FL and Recon.

Family and friends will honor Mr. Cape with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday September 12, 2009 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made in honor of Mr. Cape to Good News at Noon of Gainesville, GA.
