Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Wilma Roxie Rado Furry, age 83 of Cleveland. Mrs. Furry passed away Saturday, September 05, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Monday, September 7, 2009 from the funeral ho0me chapel with the Rev. Steve McIntyre officiating, interment will follow in White Hall Baptist Church Cemetery in Hall County.
Mrs. Furry was born on May 10, 1926 in Clifton, New Jersey to Freed Garrish and Elizabeth Chastain Garrish. During WWII, Wilma trained to be a welder at North Georgia Technical School and was assigned a job welding Liberty Ships for the war effort. She met her first husband, Jim Furry in the shipyard when the U.S. Coast Guard took possession of a new ship. During the oil embargo of the 1970â
