Little & Davenport Funeral Home announces the passing of Mrs. Norma Plimpton Easterbrooks, 83, wife of Dr. H. Lincoln Easterbrooks, Gainesville, GA, who passed away on Tuesday, September 1st at Northeast Georgia Medical Center of natural causes. She was raised in Sturbridge, MA.
Norma was predeceased by daughter Sara Murphy, and is succeeded by her husband of 62 years, Dr. H. Lincoln Easterbrooks; daughters, Cheryl Easterbrooks of Philadelphia, Susan Easterbrooks-Troutman of Gainesville, GA, and Sandra E. Cratty of Clermont, GA as well as four grandchildren, Brian Shiver, Sara Shiver, Victoria Murphy, and William Troutman, and two great-grandchildren, Isaac Shiver and Lily Shiver. Norma trained as a teacher at Perry Normal School, Boston, MA, and left the teaching profession to raise a family.
A former member of Episcopal Church choirs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Gainesville, Norma was a charter member and violinist for the Lanier Symphony, violinist for the Gainesville Symphonette, and a member of the Northeast Georgia Writers Club. An avid student of foreign languages, Norma taught English as a Second Language for many years.
A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at noon in the Chapel of Grace Church Gainesville, on Friday September, 4th, Reverend Doug Dailey officiating. Normaâ
