Myrtle Davis

Mrs. Myrtle Davis, age, 73, of Gainesville, GA and formerly of Lumpkin County, died Sunday August 30, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following a brief illness.

Mrs. Davis was born in Lumpkin County December 13, 1935 and had lived in Lumpkin County most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mattie Dale and was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Davis; infant children, Brenda and Stanley Davis; brothers, Horace Dale and Wheeler Dale.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and David Dellinger, Dahlonega, GA, Mattie and Wayne Burrell, Gainesville, GA; sisters, Gladys Crawford, Atlanta, GA, and Dot Johnson, Tucker, GA; grandchildren, Amanda Dellinger, David Dellinger Jr., and Shane Dellinger; great-grandchildren, Dustin Dellinger and Megan Tolbert. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis are scheduled for 1 PM Wednesday Sept. 2, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Rev. J.R. Fields and Rev. C.B. Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 PM until 9 PM, all day on Tuesday, and again on Wednesday until the time of service.
