Jerry T. Free

Jerry T. Free, age 68 of Gillsville, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Hall County, on February 07, 1941, he was the son of the late Dillard and Agnus Jarrard Free. Mr. Free was a retired welder and of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy and enjoyed fishing, camping and antique automobiles. In addition to his parents Mr. Free was also preceded in death by his son, Shannon Nation; sister-in-law, Becky Free.

Survivors include wife, Christine Nation Free of Gillsville; daughters, Christy Deresia Hedden of Gillsville and companion Lewis McClendon of Cleveland, Lisa and Stacey Free of South Carolina, Amber Warren of Gillsville; son, Marvin Brown of Alabama; sister & brother-in-law, Ruth & Bob Reynolds of Commerce; brother, Paul Free of Commerce; brothers & sister-in-laws, Talmadge & Patricia Free of Lula, Ben & Betty Free of Lula, J. D. & Jean Free of Alabama; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 01, 2009, at Lula Assembly of Praise with Rev. Buster Autry and Rev. Scott Poole officiating. Interment will follow in the Free Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 pm on Sunday and 3-5 & 7-9 pm on Monday.
