James Hoyt Smith

James Hoyt Smith, age 79 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009, at Habersham County Medical Center.


Born in Habersham County on September 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Ranger and Edna Walls Smith. He was employed with Habersham County Department of Transportation for 19 years as a mechanic and also with Habersham Metal for 10 years. Mr. Smith was of the Independent Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Jane Beck Smith; granddaughter, Carrie Meeks; brother, Carl â
