Jewell Reed

Jewell Reed, age 89, of Chestnut Mountain, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.


Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the cemetery of Memorial Park. Reverend Glenn Parrish will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Reed was born on January 22, 1920 to the late Claude Reed and Lillie Reed in Hall County. He retired from Chicopee and was of the Presbyterian faith. Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his wife, Florene Reed, son, Bobby Reed.


Mr. Reed is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Hazel Reed of Flowery Branch, son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jackie Reed of Oakwood, son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Linda Reed of Flowery Branch, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
