Rev. Jack Pierce, 86, of Gainesville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 following a sudden illness. Rev Pierce was the son of the late George Bishop and Margie Duckett Pierce. He was born on June 15, 1923, he was a lifetime resident of Hall County. He was called to preach in 1950 and had served the Lord ever since serving at Antioch Baptist Church, Blue Creek Baptist Church, Chestatee Baptist Church, Dewberry Baptist Church # 2, Harmony Baptist Church, Pilgrim Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Mt. View Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Mulberry Baptist Church and Shoal Creek Baptist Church.

He bought and sold cars in Gainesville and North Georgia for many years. He loved his family and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters; Claudine Gilstrap and Mary Nell King.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Eddie and Mary Lou Pierce of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law; Becky and Charles Whitlock of Cleveland, son and daughter-in-law; Ronnie and Melissa Pierce of Cleveland, daughter Jackie Cochran (deceased) son in law Stanley Cochran of Dahlonega, longtime special friend Jane Brown of Gillsville, grandson and wife, Jody and Lorrie Pierce of Cleveland, granddaughters and husbands; Chere and Johnny Thomas, Natalie and Mark Bailey, Ashley and Jeff Pierce, Misti and Todd Sheriff, Nicki and Jimmy Davis; grandsons and wives; Tyler Whitlock, Scott and Sherry Allen, Joey Pierce, Mathew Pierce, great grandchildren, Brelan and Brooke Pierce; Cole Sheriff; Gage Allen; Tanner Davis; Paige, Faith, and Hope Thomas; Jackson, Thomas and Wil Bailey; Kade, Andrew and Carter Pierce, sisters and brothers; Willie Mae Brownlow, Cidelia (Dee) Head, Betty Black, Bill Pierce, Rueben Pierce and 18 nieces and nephews other family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM and on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00P.M. at Little & Davenport, 355 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville, GA. The family request that any Ministers wishing to please serve as honorary Pall Bearers.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Lawson, Rev. Farrell Presley and Rev. Larry Forrester will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
