Minnie Marie Addis Holcomb

Minnie Marie Addis Holcomb, age 73, of Clarkesville, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.


Born in Towns County on August 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lola Allison Addis. Mrs. Holcomb was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of Bible Way Baptist Church, a loving grandmother and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, James Addis and Wilford Addis.


Surviving are husband, Talmadge Holcomb of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Buffy Holcomb of Clarkesville; sister, Marcella Freeman of Cornelia; brothers, J. B. Addis of Clarkesville and Junior Addis of Demorest; grandsons, Jacob Holcomb and Josh Holcomb; several nieces, nephews and cousins; lifelong friend, Linda Newsome of Cornelia.


Funeral services are 2:00 pm Friday, August 14 2009, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Tim Holcomb and Rev. Dennis Dills officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Davy Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm on Thursday.
