Texie Mae Clark

Texie Mae Clark, 90 of Gainesville passed away Saturday August 8, 2009 at her daughter's residence after fighting a battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at Dewberry Baptist Church #2, Cleveland Hwy., on Tuesday August 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Larry Forrester and the Rev. Steve Baker officiating with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Sunday August 9, 2009 from 4:00 p.m.until 9:00 p.m. and again Monday August 10, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Mrs. Clark was born on November 30, 1919 to the late Era Helton Smallwood and the late Lester Smallwood. She was a lifelonh resident of Hall County. She retired from New Holland Mill at the age of 75 where she worked for over 37 years at a job she loved. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Dewberry Baptist Church #2 for over 50 years.
Mrs. Clark, a loving mother & grandmother, was preceded in death by her husband, Reliford Clark, Sr.; sons Richard Clark and Roger Clark; brothers, T.J. Smallwood and Charles Smallwood, sister-in-law, Myrtle Conner.

Survivors include sons; Larry Clark and Genell Thomas, Cleveland; Reliford (Buster)Clark, Jr., Westminister, SC; daughter-in-law; Joyce Clark, Dahlonega; daughters and sons-in-law; Trish and H.C. Samples, Gainesville; Judy Love and Ronnie Green; Murrayville; daughter, Chryl Waldrip, Gainesville; grandchildren; Rodney and Tyrin Clark; Sammy and Darlene Underwood,Shanna and Phillip Morgan, Shane and Carly Hatcher, all of Gainesville; April and Larry Llibre, Mt. Rest, SC; Sherry and Steven Hix, Jefferson; Kyle and Nicole Clark, Mt. Pleasant, SC; step grandchildren, Danny and Lori Samples, Gainesville; brother, John Smallwood, Gainesville; sisters, Nell Brookshire, Tampa, FL; Jesse Smallwood, Homer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howell and Brownie Smallwood, Horace and Sarah Smallwood, all of Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Harold Wiley; Almedia and BillAllison, all of Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Nellie Mae Smallwood and Ruby Clark, all of Gainesville; brother-in-law, Bob Johnson, Gainesville; 12 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; her loving caregiver Shirley Jarrard; neices, nephews and cousins and friends of Compassionate Hospice also survive.
