Hattie Lois McGalliard

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Hattie Lois McGalliard, age 101, of Lake City, Florida, formerly of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009. Mrs. McGalliard, born in Jackson County, Georgia, was a daughter of the late, Willie Nathaniel and Lunie May Sheffield Jacks. She was a former member of Galilee Christian Church; she later left Jackson County and went to China Grove, North Carolina, in 1928, where she worked at Cannon Mills and was a homemaker; and had recently moved to florida. Mrs. McGalliard was preceded in death by her husband, William Marcus McGalliard.

Survivors include her daughters: Claris Ingersoll of Athens; and Lucille Rood of Lake City, FL. Grandchildren: John Ingersoll of Athens; Suzanne Ingersoll of Athens; Becky Pedersen of Lake City, FL; and Cathy Kennedy of Nashville, TN. Sisters: Ruth Elrod of Jefferson; and Jenny Bruce of Stone Mountain. Four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Graveside Services will be held 2 PM Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Galilee Christian Church Cemetery with Minister Tom Plank officiating.
