Martha Lyle McEver

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Martha Lyle McEver, age 80, of Talmo, who passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009. Mrs. McEver, born in Jackson County, was a daughter of the late, Hubert and Belle Hooper Lyle. She was a homemaker and a member of Talmo Baptist Church. Mrs. McEver was preceded in death by her son, Chris McEver and sister, Mary Lyle Whitfield.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lloyd McEver of Talmo. Son: Mike McEver of Jefferson. Daughter-in-law: Julie Drawdy McEver of Jefferson. Sister and brother-in-law: Judy and Jimmy Sailors of Jefferson. Brother-in-law: Eugene Whitfield of Jefferson. Grandchildren: Heather McEver Crowe of Lavonia; Heather and Casey Berryman of Jefferson; Stephen and Estelita Green of Vicenza, Italy. Seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 8, 2009 from the Talmo Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Mrs. McEver will lie in state from 10:30-11:00 on Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Berryman, Chip McEver, Jonathan McEver, Mac McEver, David Sailors, and Jeff Whitfield.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Talmo Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 96 Talmo, GA 30575.
