Judy Elaine Burton Weaver

Judy Elaine Burton Weaver, age 65, of Clarkesville, GA passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at a local area hospital following an extended illness.

Born in Habersham County, GA on February 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee Burton and Mattie Hester York Burton. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her infant son, brothers, Jim, Hubert, Cecil, Junior, Jackie, Albert and Wayne Burton, sister Retha Burton, grandchildren, Tiffany Elaine Beck and Tracie Renee Beck. Mrs. Weaver was a member of Old Nachoochee Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed with Fieldale Corporation for many years and also served as a caretaker for the elderly in their home before becoming disabled.

Survivors include daughter, Shelia Jones, Martin, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Tim Skelton, Clarkesville, GA and Jennifer and Terry Pitts, Cleveland, GA, son, Dewey Lee Franklin, Clarkesville, GA; sisters, Mary Jane Franklin, Clarkesville, GA and Winnie Hester Dill, Clarkesville, GA; brothers, Journey Burton, Clarkesville, GA, Jody Burton, Clarkesville, GA, David Burton, Clarkesville, GA, and Robert Burton, Clarkesville, GA, 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Bill Trotter, Rev. Kenneth Taylor and Rev. Austin Kelley. Burial will follow in the Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the funeral home.
