Donald Ray Young

Mr. Donald Ray Young, age 60, of Dawsonville, GA (Lumpkin County), died Monday August 3, 2009 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Mr. Young was born in Walker County, GA Nov. 30, 1948. He had lived in Lumpkin County since March of 2006, moving here from Suwanee, GA where he had lived for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Clinton Young; sisters, Margie Harding, Opal Brogan, Mary Sue Gilreath, and infant sister Patricia Sue Young.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Brenda Young, Dawsonville; sons, Roy Young and his fiancé Nicole Fox, Dahlonega, GA, Jesse Young, Dawsonville, GA; daughter, Margaret Morgan, Cloudland, GA; mother, Annie Mae Young, Lafayette, GA; brothers, Leroy Young, Ringgold, GA, James Young, Monroe, GA, and Larry Young, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; sisters, Bernice Prevatt, Calhoun, GA and Ruby Bullard, Lafayette, GA. 6 grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Young are scheduled for 1 PM Thursday August 6, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with Rev. J.R. Fields officiating.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 PM until 9 PM.
