Leon Bryson Coley

Leon Bryson Coley, 81, of Gainesville, died peacefully on July 31, surrounded by family and friends, after a long bout with cancer. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. Leon was born to Howard and Clara Gaines Coley on July 5, 1928, and is predeceased by them and his wife, Rowena Griffin Coley and great granddaughter, Winter-Rose Coley.
Leon attended Air Line School, joined the army, served with the Occupation Forces in Japan in 1947-1950. After returning home, he went back to Air Line and graduated with the class of 1950, where he met Rowena. They married after their graduation. They had one child, Richard.
Leon worked for Southern Bell from 1951-1984. After retirement, he continued to work other jobs because he enjoyed keeping busy and building relationships. He enjoyed the friends and acquaintances he made as he worked for Bo Briscoâ
