Ruth G. Webster

Ruth G. Webster, age 91, of Baldwin, GA formerly of Decatur, GA passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009.



Born in Habersham County, Georgia on May 2, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Dora Grant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Barnett B. Webster, sisters, Cora G. Wilbanks, Pauline G. Brewer and Cleo G. Ellington, and brothers, Vance Grant and Lee Grant. Mrs. Webster earned her degree from Piedmont College. She was a member of the Scott Boulevard Baptist Church, in Decatur, GA, where she was an active Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher, and a member of the choir. She was also a retired elementary school teacher, teaching school in Decatur and Habersham County for 37 years. Mrs. Webster was a member of the retired teachers association and was a charter member of her sorority. She loved the Lord, life, her church, and her family.



Survivors include sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mathilda and Bascom Scroggs, Cornelia, GA; sister-in-law, Allie Ree Webster, Cleveland, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.





Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Greg Smith and Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Level Grove Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
